The vicariate of Koski

When the parish of Koski became independent in 1913, the old wooden church was still used. The construction of the new church started in 1933 and it was located at Harakkamäki. It was the fifth church in Koski and was consecrated on 17 February in 1935. As the old church was not used anymore, it was wrecked in 1937. The tomb had been wrecked already in 1928 because due to unclear ownership relations, no one wanted to take the responsibility for the renovation. The bell tower was preserved and kept as a monument and as the chapel for the graveyard. The renovation of the bell tower was done in the years 1947-48.

The parish granary next to the bell tower was built in the year 1818 and is nowadays owned by the municipality. According to its name, it has been used as a warehouse and lender of seed grain and during the famine years also of bread grain. Since the year 1973 it has been a cafeteria called Kahviaitta, owned and ran by the association Women in Agriculture. There are also some exhibitions held upstairs in the cafeteria.
